CrunkLord420 (crunklord420@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Monday, 22-Jan-2024 11:37:12 JST CrunkLord420 @PunishedD @NonPlayableClown don't you get infinite random encounters? -
PunishedD (punishedd@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Monday, 22-Jan-2024 11:37:13 JST PunishedD @NonPlayableClown @crunklord420 Yes, but there isn't a really good way to grind in it. You don't get infinite random encounters like other FF games. Basically you're supposed to craft a well-rounded team, use them enough so they're trained up, heavily use Missions to get inactive members XP, etc. And you can still screw yourself over if you don't plan properly. Like, a story battle might start you out far from the enemies, who all do ranged damage, and you don't have enough ranged damage to kill them or mobility to get close before they cast. You don't need to revive everyone (though I do the same thing). If you lose a new member but clear a hard battle, it might be best to let them go. But DO have multiple saves in case you need to go back a few missions and re-prioritize your party. -
CrunkLord420 (crunklord420@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Monday, 22-Jan-2024 12:03:10 JST CrunkLord420 @PunishedD @NonPlayableClown from what I can tell you can get infinite random encounters, but they always match your groups level. Story missions remain static level. -
PunishedD (punishedd@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Monday, 22-Jan-2024 12:03:11 JST PunishedD @crunklord420 @NonPlayableClown I don't remember getting them? I would cycle around the map and get maybe 1, everything else was story battles and the Missions from the Inn. -

I got PTSD from being save locked without enough exp to beat a story mission. CrunkLord420 likes this. -
聖騎士 (deadheat@cawfee.club)'s status on Tuesday, 23-Jan-2024 05:05:51 JST 聖騎士 @crunklord420 No, you are actually not supposed to grind too much, that will make the random encounters with enemy monsters too hard because you won't have good gear to buy from the shops yet CrunkLord420 likes this. -
聖騎士 (deadheat@cawfee.club)'s status on Tuesday, 23-Jan-2024 05:05:51 JST 聖騎士 @crunklord420 By the way, there's a hidden mechanic about how stronger you get with each level, the permanent stats bonuses are based on which class you currently are. You won't notice the effects of this right away, but if you have a character that you use to deal physical damage, and you level him up too many times with a class that has low bonus physical attack like Chemist, you will notice at the end of the game that he is significantly weaker than other characters that leveled all the way to level 99 using only classes with high physical attack bonus.
I will be annoyed forever that I didn't know about this when I played this game back then.
