What's great is that there are still old school 737's running around, working fine (if you put up with those crappy old -200 model engines, they're thirsty, loud, not too reliable)
Really goes to show that modern incompetence is even so bad that they can't just add a new flight deck w/ some ipads bolted into the panel without irrevocably screwing everything up

IDK how early the military got theirs, but the old 747 and its predecessors have been great in military use....hmmm

@Shadowman311 The tanker fleet is coming up on 70 years old, built on the 707 drafted up around 1955. Those things just keep on truckin' as the tanker, the E-3, the E-6, even the E-8 too. Good ol' white engineering lasts

@Christmas_Man @Shadowman311 High and low. Well cared for ones will last the better part of a century, while the ones whose owners overextended on will end up rotting because they can't invest in maintenance.
Vicious cycle, same thing you see in ferrari beaters - "Shit I'm not paying $20k to have the engine torn down!" turns to "oh it's dead, who even wants a project car? I'll sell it for $20k"
BBJs are pretty sweet though, worked with a guy who flew them on a brief stint. Ended up leaving the job because he hardly ever flew though
