     @nixCraft first, it's written in java. not bad directly, but a pita to manage infra for because of all the memory leaks and other garbage that comes with shitty java development.

     patches are notoriously fucked up and god save you if you don't take a COMPLETE system backup(not just app files).

     The complete loss of support for on-prem hosting.

     The cost for, well, everything from them. for a small 20 dev team it costs my company close to the average salary of one dev per year.

     fuck Atlassian.

     @nixCraft Quite complex, more than actually needed. Also I get tasks to do there, and none of them are taking a coffee and reviewing my mates' code :(

     @nixCraft the ticket hierarchy system is really inflexible, and there's quite often bugs and unexpected things happen when editing a ticket

     @nixCraft the ticket hierarchy is too inflexible, and the UI slow and overly esoteric. Most orgs I've seen refuse to customise or customise poorly leading to a system that is very high high friction for developers

     @nixCraft using Jira since 2009, it felt nice when I started using initially but even after so many years all product look and work almost the same way, which is good and bad. Mostly bad, there is no nice programmable API, everything around it is paid, slow, moving to SaaS, JQL, notification for every single update, and companies building abstract pages on top of it!

     Confluence is even bad, try search feature!
