   Nobody seems able to parse this but it seems like so many agruments I have with city fags and euro rats when they ask why I’m not sad because I have to go to the store/shops/cafes every day.

   I’d much rather just spend one day at the store to get me through 2 weeks of living, make my home as self-contained as possible

     @Alex1488 some people love city living because they derive energy from simply existing among people. It’s secure for them to be part of a tribe, or maybe they’re just not at peace with their own soul all alone

I want a cup of coffee now, the me that wants a cup of coffee tomorrow does not exist yet and does not factor into my calculations. Vs the low time preference, what if 2 months from now my preferred brand is out of stock? What if I get snowed in? Best make sure I've got 20lbs of it in the basement, you know, just in case.
     
     Weird paradox, the urbanite is closer to a hunter gatherer in this way. Sustenance is provided passively by the environment, you consume what is available at the time you need it. Shelter? Fungible, move apartments if the current one no longer meets your needs. Work? Gigs, make enough money to the point your needs are covered

     @WashedOutGundamPilot Since I've started going on dates I've learned to appreciate small coffee shops. I can completely understand why you would want to go to one every day and in a better society I think most of us would too. Small closely knit community is important, outside of a city or inside of it, and most people cannot handle being a lone wolf for their entire lives. If they could incels wouldn't be publicly going insane on the tl. Having a place you can see people regularly daily outside of work sounds nice and in a theoretical tight knit white community it sounds lovely.

     @fishsticks @WashedOutGundamPilot Based, I am also in coffee-shop-as-community-center gang and it's where I pulled the gf from.
     
     We also do daily grocery shopping around here, and the grocery store has daily deals and other tricks to encourage such behavior, but bulk shopping isn't really an option for people without cars anyway.

     @fishsticks That’s basically the feed store for some people I know. In my last place they even had a little ice cream bar, some snacks, a bunch of stuff for people to have fun since there wasn’t much for a ways on the hw
