There are some other decent ones (check fdroid; chip defence is legitimately good, although the latest pach completely fucked clocks, very sad, so I'm doing a new run to figure out how to build around it), but those two are the immediate "high quality, well polished" examples.
     (Oh, and Simon Tatham's portable puzzle collection, that you could probably install on your botnet LG washing machine.)

     I mean, don't get me wrong here... Command and Conquer "Red Alert 2" is the only game I play regularly, although I play 0AD from time to time. However, to people who like action games, it appears boring as shit and may well be.

     Din's Curse is also pretty great for many of the same reasons, and it is DRM-free. You can buy it directly from the developer's site: http://www.soldak.com/Dins-Curse/Overview.html

     Good idea. I should, but I have to admit, I am flaky on having time to even play much RA2.
     
     I wish I had more time for 0AD but your average game time is something like 42 hours.

     In most of the world, they do not do mining and logging unless some White People show up and pay them to do it.
     
     They live in round huts, eating bushmeat and garden vegetables.
