LA has a lot of songs about how much LA sucks because it's a very chill place.

Smells like garbage *outside* in the winter. That takes some doing.
LA is a delight. The people that say things like you have just said about my hometown (AHEM) tend to fall into one of two categories: people that have never been to Los Angeles, and people that showed up and stayed in Hollywood and then washed up in Santa Monica and then left.
It is fine with me if you keep making this insistence, though: too many shitty transplants show up and stay a few years and leave, but the problem is that they vote while they're here.† top dog :pedomustdie: likes this. -

"These shitty people are shitty and they want to live where I am and not in Los Angeles." tells me more about wherever you are than Los Angeles.† top dog :pedomustdie: likes this. -
The Problem (marine@breastmilk.club)'s status on Thursday, 18-Jan-2024 09:58:36 JST The Problem @p @eris @p @PonyPanda @p @lunarised I’ve had the displeasure of living around enough California transplants, particularly from LA and seen how they voted and changed my hometown. I do not like it in any way. Honestly, the fact that they’re leaving and running across the country should tell you what you need to know.
I am not defending New York in any way because I arguably do believe in some sense, it is currently shittier, but LA is not much better.

I love both of them. If you can't have fun in those towns you have no pulse. -

Seems like it costs more money to have fun in New York than in LA but I did not stay there too long.
