AI to hit 40% of jobs and worsen inequality, IMF says https://www.bbc.com/news/business-67977967 I have said this before and I will say it again - the major risk associated with AI is the potential loss of white-collar jobs. Both AI creators and governments avoid discussing this issue, and there are no significant measures in place to protect workers in these jobs.
They are constructing an entire empire of AI technology by using data that is not authorized by the copyright holders. They then sell this AI to investors, promising big returns. Unfortunately, only a select few will become wealthy, while most white-collar workers will suffer job losses. The politicians will then blame immigration for everything that has gone wrong. We are headed towards a disaster. I wish I could be wrong.
@nixCraft The doctors are not panicking yet. They should be. AI will replace most of them with cheaper suitably supported clinicians. Who will get better results in improving our well being.
@nixCraft Agreed, there is a huge disaster coming. Yet we are continuous told by "Big Tech" and the media that there will be no job losses. Already I have seen thousands of jobs lost to AI. Very sad, but we the people can change things IF we work together.
@nixCraft They don't need copyright holders authorisation merely read works. Be very glad about that, big content tried to get us a world where there were no search engines would have been impossible, your internet was taken away for merely looking at a pirate work by accident, and AI screen reading aids would have had to individually license everything they might read to a disabled person. What they do after having read it is more of an issue.
