All it takes is the mindset of "it's just anime bro it's not high art" and naive Japanese dudes assuming that it's the 90s and the west needs censorship and all to have it sell there, and the next thing you know you get lines like "sus" in Nagataro.
It can also be stamped out at a creator level, I heard one of the reasons for the new Evangelion dubs was that Gainax staff saw the reaction to one of the rebuild movie dubs at a con and had them redub it with more literal dialogue.- cool_boy_mew likes this.

@maxmustermann@shitposter.club I see it more like animation is actually a form of art, however dubbing, specially English ones of anime are actual hot garbage.
By all accounts Spanish dubs are better than English ones, they do good and fair translations, so while I wouldn't say Spanish dubs are art I would say they are closer.
