Spreadsheet column and row highlighting coming in #LibreOffice 24.2, our next major release! (With new "year.month" version scheme.) Enable it in Tools > Options > LibreOffice Calc > View. Thanks to Sahil Gautam from our community for implementing this feature 😊 #foss#opensource
for some reason, and this could be 100% a me problem, I find calc ugly it just looks bad on my screen maybe this is cause I am used to excel; dunno
also the whole GUI for scattergrams sucks; the options are the wrong one, the defaults are wont, etc etc there are all sorts of great programs (or were) like Kaleidagraph, you can use as models I understand that free advice (me) is worth what you pay for it, or possibly less
@3mind There's an enhancement request but nobody has stepped up to work on it (yet). LibreOffice is a volunteer-driven, community open source project with very limited resources. It can only happen if people get involved and help the volunteers to implement it, or fund developers 😊
I know that's not the most satisfying answer, but the LibreOffice community gets huge numbers of requests to implement things, and very few people actually volunteer to help out or fund developers...
Hi @libreoffice - maybe a bounty program could help raise funding for requested features? I know it's a bit harder to get this up, running and maintained (not to mention disputes when bounty is claimed but requesting user feels something is missing or wrong) but you might consider that option?
@schroedingershund@3mind Yes, it is something we consider quite often! They can be very complex and time-consuming to run, as you mentioned, but maybe we can set up something manageable one day...
