     @RupertvonRipp STEM guys are probably awkward and brown, having them around peacocking for the attentions of the 15% of the women there who are at least a 6/10 infuriates the 85% who don’t meet that standard. It’s a pot with many flavors, but they all add up to spicy seething

     @RupertvonRipp Don’t even start on the title 9 stuff. There’s horrifying abuses in there. Lots of horror stories where a girl cheats on her BF and cries rape when the dude finds out, then her post-event, sober messages lauding him and promising more soon are totally ignored as if he has long-range rape powers after the fact. Really messed up

     @WashedOutGundamPilot This has been the case of the various Women of Code/She can STEM grant programs out there for some time now. Software conference organizers figured out they could use DEI grant funds from big tech to lure in women from low income zones such as india, eastern europe & south america. It does not matter that these women are unable to write more than maybe "hello world", the point is to get them into a captive space with a bunch of intelligent but awkward men.

     @DemonSixOne That’s sensible to an extent, at least. I just had to explain to one of our management caste that all-female scholarships aren’t the norm because it’s not 1965 anymore. Almost ALL scholarships at my school were women-only. Just clicking the “male” box brought the results from 5,320 to 1,213 or so.

     He seemed baffled by that, like “no, wait, that’s egregious. Don’t they have to be equal? That’s outta whack”
