   You know what’s kinda sad? The thing that teaches most everyone this lesson seems to be pornography. It’s always that.

   Before twitter bans eliminated your fave jokes, before netflix deals crumbled to dust, there was porn being taken down. That’s always what sets ‘em down the path of archiving.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @platypus I would go as far as to suggest that the way it occurred in antiquity (only those books that were thought of highly enough to inspire frequent copying and distribution by private collectors and librarians survived) is perhaps a better way to treat information in general. The issue is that the sort of behaviour that supported that ecosystem, that preserved things like the Bible or The Illiad, has been criminalized.
