i have never messed with HW stuff. I have a very old spare laptop I wanna start experimenting with, because I'd like to be able to repair my laptop by myself.

@mischievoustomato @fl0wnspc @mangeurdenuage laptops are kinda annoying. If it ain't made to open, oof. Changing screen and all that will be an issue and most of them are not made to be changing all parts
Otherwise, building computers in general is just adult lego

my lelnovo ideapad 5 is openable and shit, but god damn i got unlucky with it. Software works well, cpu, ram, storage, wifi, bt all work well, linux support is 100%, battery life is even the same or a lil less than windows, but the fucking shell of the laptop is shitty, but i did get a display model.
I hope to get a better lenovo by the end of this year hopefully, wishing i can get a thinkpad esomething

the body of the laptop is plastic, the lid is metal/aluminum
pain, right side of the palm rest creaks when i lay my hand on it, hinge is shitty too, and it started getting a yellowish/greenish color around the palm rests too because my hands often sweat (i fucking love having anxiety)
i really need a metal laptop
