     The theme for 2023 is 'Black Resistance', "recognising the ways in which Black people have resisted oppression, discrimination & prejudice throughout history.These efforts have been to advocate for a dignified self-determined life in a just democratic society in the U.S. & beyond the U.S. political jurisdiction"
