@arstechnica They should also rename from Hertz to Pistons
@arstechnica This is an interesting quote, "...Additionally, its rental EVs were damaged or crashed more often..."
It would be interesting to know why they crash more often if they're supposed to be safer. I drove a Tesla rental with another company and found it to be very distracting and the powerful acceleration is too much for the average person. The regenerative breaking is also a very unexpected shock.
@arstechnica The crazy thing about this is that the high repair costs are a specific design decision manufacturers. Probably to appease dealers who make most of their money fixing cars rather than selling them. With the exception of batteries, EVs are much simpler and should be less costly to manufacture.
@arstechnica I've been driving EVs for 15 years now, so I guess I must be lucky as my repair costs have been lower than all the ICE cars I drove before then.
@arstechnica I've gotten so many emails from Hertz about "PLEASE RENT A TESLA IF YOU TRULY LOVE US"
@arstechnica
We'll see how this shakes out in the next few years once reporters can look at the data. What corporations report as the issue and what independent investigators find don't always match.
Wait, they can resell Tesla? @arstechnica
@arstechnica 🤣😂
