   Statistics for smoking ("røyker") and snus ("snuser") in Norway over the past 20 years. Many quit smoking, but a good number just switched to snus instead - tobacco or nicotine-infused cotton in a small bag, placed under the upper lip.

     those are not even remotely the same thing. it's the tobacco that contains the stuff that's actually bad for you. nicotine is essentially harmless outside of the physical addiction itself
