     @emma @p @emma when you set up your PVS you can use the sdx path or a label. Using labels usually helps avoid confusion like that although if it was a clone that might still have been an issue since both droves might have shared the disk labels.

     @p@freespeechextremist.com @emma@waifuism.life the issue was i had the original drive still installed and they were fighting for who gets to be sda, i didn't know that would be a problem

     @p @emma @emma Some buggy motherboards do this. It's better to use UUIDs in fstab and others either way.

     @emma @emma Maybe an LVM issue. (sjw uses it a lot, maybe he can help.) mdadm should be able to assemble it from whatever you have.
     
     I'm not sure what fighting for sda means, those are just assigned. They're changing between boots?

     @p @emma @emma yeah I didn't read through the output since by the time I was reading it seems the problem was solved but that's what I'd expect of a clone. Still a good idea over using the sdX paths for pvcreate as they can change if a second drive is installed that isn't a clone.
