   Encountered the white text box problem again when playing games and switching to kana. I forgot how to fix it.

     I'll switch system locale when I get up later but I don't think that will help. I remember I had to deal with this for months and I can't recall exactly what fixed it.

     I changed locale and the box doesn't show up when I switched input now.

     Well that issue is type in english keyboard mode.
     We having kind of problem but we are typing our launguage in English keyboard...

     well if you want to solve that.
     you can try to two plan.
     
     1. install the "Japanese typing mod".
     
     2. you typing Japanese words in note pads app, then copy and paste to chat.

     @lemi @gentooP Honestly the problem is not having a standard for text input. Everyone wants to do it slightly differently which causes all sorts of interesting quirks.
     Like... To begin with, even mapping key signals isn't standard.
