Password leaving my memory ASAP as I create them. Literally. The next page asks me to login. I have already forgotten my password. 🤣

Meanwhile, in reality they really aren't that great (and most passwords are "hacked" by simply downloading leaked databases and tricking users anyway...) What astounded me though was the moment I realized NexusMods has higher password requirements than my bank. I literally have had to give up on sites like NexusMods and store my password plaintext somewhere.

ZOctopus (octopus1348@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 11-Jan-2024 02:23:17 JST ZOctopus @nixCraft I make my passwords systematically + use a password manager. Like I put my nickname in the password, the service name I'm crating an account for (this is the only dynamic part), and then a word like "account". Then some numbers and symbols that you will remember as you use them in all your passwords. And boom! You made a long, secure, and memorable password that is different everywhere.
But when the service is stupid and has a password character limit, I'm fucked.
