   so the axe head I am refitting to be a hatchet seems like it's a Plumb which seems to be a pretty sturdy and popular brand. I took a file to the end and got rid of most of the mushrooming and have gotten some of the old off it with a bit of sandpaper, but I think I am going to see if I have a wirebrush wheel for my grinder and give it to that to see if i can't get it to clean up a bit more and maybe I can figure out when it was made.
