I've been playing a lot of that one Tabletop Sim updated recreation of that old limited run Fate: Dominate the Grail War board game recently. Game is swingy as fuck and games are a wild grab bag between interesting and half the table running from some unfortunately strong master/servant combo.
All in all I've been having fun playing it again and the guy running it is always adding new dumb stuff. Last expansion added a bunch of Tsukihime characters as Masters and I've been playing a lot of SHIKI since he has a funny gimmick where you can rob cards from your opponent's discards.

Actually @Zerglingman , do you know how to make games for that one thing we played Tragedy Looper on? This entire setup wouldn't be too hard to port, I just don't know much about the thing you used.
-
@supersid333 It's very easy to make stuff in that. It's like gametable, if you ever used that way back in the day; virtual tabletop at its best.
In fact, I think several of the things in it were made specifically to make it easy to rip assets from TTS. Like seems TTS uses sheets for card decks, so there's a way to build a deck from a sheet by just saying how many cards tall and wide an image is.
-
@supersid333 (And the simplest way to rip assets from TTS is actually to just grab the module's json file and grep it for https?//[^"] or whatever. :^)
I could potentially write a script to rip it properly, so things have sensible file names, but I tried that before and it worked out to be more effort than just manually fixing the names.)

@Zerglingman I'd probably do it manually, though I guess the hardest part of porting it would be setting up a way to randomly distribute the servants.
-
@Zerglingman On that note they also do tend to a Dropbox that has all the stuff in it too. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/afp2onu3jsx0zo6/AACohMaK5oj_7UiRqi0_bhdRa?dl=0

@supersid333 Shove them in a bag/deck, shuffle it, draw?
Some amount of it will have to be "manual", yeah, but automating as much as you can is always good.
Also, with the boards on boardmachine, you don't create modules or whatever. You can just save the table at any time, so you just make saves in certain states.
The dev has a game bag he carries around, where each game in the bag, you pull it out and it triggers a load on the table. I'm not sure how that one works yet, I only have the one game lol.
Actually no, I saved a copy of his game bag. It doesn't contain the assets but I think I know where to fetch them from (his server) so I could pull them as I need them.
So yeah, you can save certain objects as well as the entire table. They both come out as json but I'm not sure if they're interchangeable.
-
@supersid333 That's probably less hassle than TTS.
-
@Zerglingman Could just be as simple as random pull a class and then random pull X servants from that class pool after you figure out which you got I guess.
-
@supersid333 Have a bag for each servant, so you just open the right bag.
-
@Ronnie21093 Very normal game, nothing wrong or chaotic here :)
-
@supersid333 @Awoo Sounds wild. :doge_laugh:
-
@Awoo Was a limited run japanese game. Guy took the game, translated it, and has been adding fan expansion content over time. There are a stupid amount of servants and masters now and the game is a fun game about trying not to give too much away before your opponent starts anticipating what servant you're on and what your win con specifically is.

@supersid333
>Fate Boardgame
Had did I not know this existed.
-
@Zerglingman So what is the name of the program we were playing on?
-
@supersid333 Board machine. It's self-replicating, canonical source is boardmachine.harpy.faith
-
@Zerglingman I'm hitting a small hitch even setting up the board proper. All sets up well but it doesn't save some of the things properly when it tries to turn it into an object.
-
@supersid333 MMight be a bug.
