I don't really care about having to pay 2$ to park for an hour, but getting four emails because I parked at the grocery store is a bit excessive.

But on Black Friday - which I have heard some Aussies find really offensive because "Black [day of week]" generally refers to a day a bushfire killed a bunch of people - the city decided hourly notifications (noise and all) via the app reminding you parking was free all day was appropriate.
Bastards.

fraggLe! (fwaggle@moodoo.org)'s status on Sunday, 07-Jan-2024 10:21:18 JST fraggLe! @foone I got 11 notifications in all, from 8am to 7pm.
The company who provide the app said it was the city council's decision, and you can't opt out except to mute all notifications (including the one of hey your parking expired, did you get back to your car?), then closed the ticket.
