The big electric pickup truck is out of the suburbs and out of its element.

@arstechnica @asymco I don't like giant trucks either and agree they are symptom of bigger issues, but this framing is a bit like reviewing Nissan Leaf based on its off road capabilities.
@arstechnica ...yes
They're not for the suburbs either.
Large, heavy vehicles — especially trucks — are generally bad for safety and for the environment.
The hazard they impose increments with speed, as fuel efficiency decreases and kinetic energy increases.
Any vehicle registered as a truck should be legally limited to 55mph regardless of what highway they’re being driven on.
So like any F-150, it’s too big.
@arstechnica Is that a V40 beside it?
@arstechnica I do agree pricing themselves into Rivian territory was a huge mistake for them (pun slightly intended) as the Rivian actually seems like a much more capable and luxurious vehicle for the price.
Personally, I got a RAV4 Prime as my gas/EV compromise to get me to my folks’ place in the mountains 150 miles away and run around in the city too when needed. And I am planning on getting an Aptera when they come out as my primary city commuter.
@arstechnica I want a SMALL electric. Still, it has to have range. Mad at VW for not doing the eGolf first.
