     I think they rearranged a bunch of stuff around then.
     I have a version switcher tool that just packs up a couple of files that were the ones that would get changed, the .dat or .mpq files or whatever, but that thing doesn't work with 1.30 because the whole layout has changed.
     That may be related.

     @Zerglingman @Awoo Wine works well for most games. I know of a torrent link to a linux version of wc3 if you can't get it to work. I'd say just use lutris or steam for latest proton vers. (If it gives you errors)
     
     I had everything setup on my system rdy to game maybe a year ago. Running perfectly. Then I nuked my OS and had to re do my wine installation. Never really worked as well as it did back then. Finally got most of my settings fixed a couple weeks ago. Its satisfying to load some windows .exe games with minimal effort. Fuck everything after win7.

     lutris seems cool but you look inside and it's just steam (occasionally reading its scripts is helpful. Occasionally)
     Just get wine+gloriouseggroll, it's basically proton++ with no steam dep.

     @StoleMyThundersBalls @Awoo Basically blizz decided they hadn't done enough ass-raping lately so they went out of their way to overhaul wc3 and do it up to be modern, and released it as a new product that's only somewhat compatible with the old product which is forced into the new version stream whether you pay up or not (if you touch bnet at all). Of course, the old one gets gimped to shit and most of what you pay for is restoring the original quality.
     I don't remember exactly which version this occurs at. I had thought it was 1.30 but it wasn't.

     All my shit is electron apps because it's quick to develop, and runs well on my machine
     
     Is it efficient? No
     Can most computers run it? Yes
     
     If we want to go back to building good, efficient, Ui apps, then we need to get buy with less advanced shit, or someone needs to make something that doesn't feel like shit to write
     
     (Qt5 sucks, GTK sucks, win32 sucks. Atleast electron is just html/css)

     @lina @Awoo @Zerglingman yeah. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating building entire fucking backends in the electron JS environment. Just use .node files to link c++ or rust functions though. Fast af. Clean, and it honestly means I can use JS for stuff that JS is good for, and use more powerful langs where I need their feature sets
