     all that storage shouldnt be on a local machine... get a second box that handles the storage, uses filesystems that benefit data integrity, and you just map those shares to your drive letters.

     those WD and Seagate 4+ TB drives are time bombs...
     
     they are fine for a 2nd or 3rd copy of your data... but they are bad if its your only copy

     @zero also i was thinking about getting synology thing because it looked good but i dont have the money for that a 4tb external was cheaper like 90$ compared to 500$

     i love ZFS 2 drive redundancy and Synology SHR 2 drive redundancy... I use ECC ram in my synology but I know ZFS makes better use of it with its scrubbing. Gambling that BTRFS does well enough not to corrupt data long term.
