@moffintosh @kaia @dushman @Moon @Hyolobrika you don't need a 2 ton machine to bend steel. You don't need a tractor or hectares to produce food. You don't need "associated fertilizer" or whatever. Chicken and pig shit are great fertilizer if composted first. Rabbit shit can be used immediately. You can eat the animals too.
animal husbandry is a skill. Tending soil is a skill. Planting and harvesting is a skill. Before you have those skills the tractor is just going to get you hurt. If you are on less space you may need to be creative to compete in the food market. You could easily fit a couple dozen fruit trees on a space less than a single hectare. If you don't have property where you can plant trees then maybe farming is not the business you should be focusing on. Again there are all kinds of skills you can build up which can then be used to produce value for yourself either in the form of wages or a small business. You don't need to compete with the big businesses all that much outside of retail.
