     @nixCraft I switched over to Pocket Casts. It's not quite as simple to use as Google Podcasts (requires more clicks to get to the same point), but it works well enough.

     @nixCraft Google's product these days are staff engineer promotion packages. If a system isn't producing those, it has no internal market, no institutional support, and becomes a target for resource acquisition.

     @nixCraft I hate that they keep entering into competition in markets they don't actually want to inhabit.

     They jump in long enough to kill off a bunch or even all of the competitors and then they kill their project.

     They don't just push everybody to their solution, they push everybody onto their solution and then pull the plug.
