Be honest: do you actually finish each side project before starting a new one?
Or do you have a whole bunch of unfinished side projects? 🤔

@nixCraft To be bloody honest, I don't even start side projects. It's either in my head or in my scribble on somewhere. I should start some.
@nixCraft I feel personally attacked for being called out so ruthlessly. /S
I'm in the middle of a proxmox NAS/OPNsense project with random parts laying around and... It's not going great. Might need to abandon it and start something else I will abandon shortly thereafter 😅
@nixCraft Haha, there is a bunch of started side projects like an Android app, a video game some helpers for my daily work....and there are already new ideas in my mind
@nixCraft So many unfinished side projects, and there will be more.
@nixCraft :blobpeek: never lol
@nixCraft and every new year I say I'm going to finish some of them this year...
@nixCraft I like to think of them as prototypes. If the project is worth continuing then I'll finish it, but some projects are just good for learning a few lessons and moving on.
@nixCraft :(
@nixCraft 😅 Some of the side projects started by my side projects have declared independence and started their own country.
Timing, necessity and availability of external resources can keep side projects in limbo for decades, with marginal progress now and then.
Speaking as a web developer without a personal website😱
@nixCraft
Yes
@nixCraft My ratio between finished and unfinished side projects is maybe 1:50, if we're generous (and that's just coding, my other hobbies are even worse).
@nixCraft There's no such thing as a finished side project. There's unfinished ongoing projects and unfinished unmaintained side projects.
