     @Sabex But it is. The point of gatekeeping isn't actually to keep everyone out. It's to keep out the people who refuse to learn the culture they're trying to join. Those people are the ones who would go on to complain loudly that the culture won't change to suit them, and if anyone pays them any heed, such as outside observers (or the leaders, if such a concept exists, etc. a game's developers), the community will rapidly die.
