   Using generations as a unit of time has been around since before the bible so that's not going anywhere.

   Turns out it's also a useful way to track other metrics - economics, cultural change, birth/death rates etc..

   We're only just realizing how important generational coherence is to people's sanity as we watch the rate of technological change dissolve those bonds in real time.

   The best example is the change in women. It's been absolutely shocking to witness.

     People try to look down on younger generations as if it wasn't incumbent on them to instill the right values in them and mold them into good people.
