@Suzu@MK2boogaloo I had a deck that worked like this: 1) Have 3 of the ABSOLUTE FUCKING CHEAPEST ETR ice possible - one of each type. 2) Throw in 3 fast track 3) Throw in Punitive Counterstrike/BOOMs 4) Lay down Government Takeover once you get your Casting Call 5) Watch as they scramble to figure out how to steal that while working around the tags
Absolutely glorious deck, wasn't worried about agenda density so much.
Fun fact: this agenda is frequently not used for its power (because it's almost impossible to advance and score it unless you use some shenanigans), but it's used because it has a high agenda point density, so you can make a deck with the fewest number of agenda cards possible, and just focus on flatlining the runner.
@Suzu@MK2boogaloo It's been some time, but you could totally grab the data packs and the last big box.
I question the value of grabbing all of the last of the cards - a lot of the last data packs were *really* broken. That said, there's...still kind of people who play Netrunner. The problem is that there's a large indie group who runs it, and they release their own cards which are poorly designed. The end result is that the game is only a little better than it was after Sifr (but massively worse than before Sifr).
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating@MK2boogaloo nice card. This is from the last big pack (Data and Destiny, IIRC), right? I only have the cards up to Order and Chaos (the big pack focusing on Weyland and Anarchs), I stopped buying because it was a chore to import it.
I wish to get back to it and buy the rest of the cards, just to have a complete game now that it ended, even if I can't find people to play with anymore.
@Suzu@MK2boogaloo Yeah, that's probably right. The guy I was playing with, we just sort of agreed to stop somewhere in the middle of the Mumbad Cycle and didn't think too hard on it.
Why don't we put together a pair of decks from right before the first big box (Core/Genesis), grab a few interested people from fedi, and set a time to teach them? We're not the only ones in the thread, might be able to grab a few people for card gaemu.
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating@MK2boogaloo well, tbh, if the problem is in just a few specific cards (like an anarch console), O don't see why a group of friends playing wouldn't ban it.
I mean, the game is officially dead, there are no rankings or tournaments or anything like that, it's just a bunch of people playing for fun. It makes no sense using the most powerful cards that will make your deck stomp everyone and then having no one wanting to play with you. It's like the retard that comes to the Friday night kitchen table MtG game with a fucking asinine 1000 dollar blue control deck.
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating@MK2boogaloo yeah, but IIRC the last data packs provide some support for the "independent" runners from Data and Destiny, and they had some cool ideas with those runners
