   i used to TA a blind guy back in my uni days, it was pretty impressive to see what can be done even when one of the main senses is missing. made me less fearful about maybe losing sight some day, it's not great but not a catastrophe either.

     @lain there was an older than typical guy in some of my classes with a seeing eye dog. welding accident. spark went up his nose and cut the nerves for his eyes and his nose. so he can’t even smell food to know if it’s still good! nor see nor smell fire, etc.

     he seemed well enough adjusted to it, tho.
