     @arstechnica admittedly not having read the article, my assumption is that in almost any circumstances there will be more efficient ways to tackle drought ridden areas, before choosing to watch beavers from space.

     @arstechnica Look at satellite images, and see how many beaver dams you can spot along the Snake River in Grand Teton National Park. There are a couple in this image.
