     running a microwave empty can kill it? I mean, I've never tried because why would you but like what if you just put too small of an amount of food into it?!

     @zmeyche Definitely the case with the one I just got for the new place: it’s a 1000w commercial model (so we hopefully don’t have to replace it in two years when it rusts) and so far I’ve been able to find it under the brands of Buffalo, Electriq, Quattro, MenuMaster, Valera, Whirlpool, etc., with the only difference being the colour of the buttons on the control panel + the branding + the price/availability. I have a feeling the actual manufacturer might be Midea: https://www.midea.com/us/commercial-kitchen/0-9-cu-ft-1000w-push-button-commercial-microwave

     @aral wasn’t there like ONE microwave manufacturer that everyone else simply purchases with some tweaks in the design from?
