   @eidolon I’d argue that almost no one predicted the internet, and, of the few authors who did, no one thought it’s going to be invented so soon and become omnipresent. Virtual reality is somewhat accurate, but it’s nowhere near as popular in real life. Real life smart devices truly capture the spirit of cyberpunk though

     Sci-fi has been prescient about a lot of things like the internet, virtual reality, smart devices. But I can't think of any sci-fi that predicted streaming services and that they'd replace television. From what I can remember they all seemed to think that television would last forever.
