     :Thinker: the crack goes the whole way across. It hasn't reached the outside but unless I can spread it apart without snapping it and get some glue down into the stretch I think I may need to pick a new piece and redo the mortice.

     @Alphakilopapa upon closer inspection it seems to be 2 separate cracks. I don't have a syringe handy, but I made a little wedge and used a tiny painters spatula to get the glue down in the joint and then wiggled the wedge to induce a bit of movement so the glue could find more surface inside. I clamped both sides and glue of course squeezed out but I think it'll hold. I may need to pair the tenon cheeks down a bit more but I'll wait until the glue dries to play around with that side more. I have to get started smoking dinner and then I have some other things I was thinking I might be able to do quickly as little gifts for a few others.
