nixCraft 🐧 (nixcraft@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 21-Dec-2023 21:10:00 JST nixCraft 🐧 ^ This is terrible mood. Only some people can actually get paid to write a code free of cost or close issues. For most, it is the love of labor. Often, people demand fixing issues on Github/Gitlab work for large companies. They don't donate a single penny. The state of FLOSS is terrible. I really hope nobody suffer like this.

I wondered there could be some de-facto guidelines for reporting issues for decency's sake.

From my personal experience almost all of the open source projects out there (from single dev all the way up to large company backed) are very happy if you report issues to them, but the way you report matters! Be polite, be precise, and be thankful for everything they already provide for free! -
