@arstechnica people connect their TVs directly to the internet? That’s the worst idea ever.
@arstechnica This would cause too many accidents and class action lawsuits. A device detecting that a person's hand might be raised is not legal consent to charge money to them. They will be sued to oblivion even for trying such a thing. There's surely no way they're too stupid to realize this, so my guess is this idea never makes it to market.
@arstechnica And I will be getting more aggressive removing the ads, and purchasing products that not only not have them, but also CAN'T be updated to change that point.
@arstechnica I’d never buy a TV with this sort of “feature” if I could buy one without. I don’t want my electronics spying on me in the name of very dubious “convenience”.
