@arstechnica "US Congress acts like they've had a brilliant idea that was actually discovered in 1750, gives no details on how, what it how to fund it" 🙄
@arstechnica PROC will spend big bucks doing things with low probability or long term payback while the US has spent 50 years underfunding NASA and encouraging for-profit entities. Even though some space companies funded by those with a hundred billion to burn can wait years for returns they generally won't go for low-likelihood paybacks or those that only reward all of civilization rather than just the investors. Some things need to be publicly funded for long periods.
@arstechnica Nice, but article forgets to mention that the Lagrange points aren't stable...
@arstechnica this is just an extension to the deviant behavior of the USA today,, I don't think that the US people actually can stop their government from the abnormal behavior of the military-industrial complex. The USA is never have been more isolated internationally than today! The excuse that they fighr for "democracy" has to end! And now this atrocity! The money laundering scheme works, make foreign wars, give taxpayer money to the private military industry! The Space belongs to noone!
