   I hate to say it but the intense Tomboy Delusion that's plagued the internet for the past 18 months has actually made me dislike tomboys

     There are good aspects of tomboys, but you don't need to make a big deal of them, that strength has been an innate part of women. We got carried away with ladylike conduct, and rose-scented femininity and lost sight of the fact that women have always been hard workers, dedicated to doing the needful for their kids. Not just cooking or cleaning, but hard work when it needed doing.
     
     You see this in families where the dad is deployed sometimes, a mom that buckles down and fixes the sink, mows the lawn, shovels snow. That down and dirty attitude is now seen as this reserved, inaccessible domain of afeminine tomboy girls, and it should be more common than that.
     
     Maybe I'm just a romantic for the old west pioneer woman, who didn't want to go shooting and run with the boys, but she knew how and she could pop reds if she had to.

     @nugger @ComedyGoldstein that's a good description, but a lot of people that fawn over the Tomboy simply project themselves or their desires onto that character. Maybe the lack of mystery or challenge disgusts me.

     @ComedyGoldstein the obsession over this mythical female archetype that isn't particularly coherent. It's just "woman with short hair who's aggressive and shares my exact same interests"
