     @coolboymew@shitposter.club Yeah, I've never understood the logic of advertising and marketing. For example, car commercials. It's a $30k product...people aren't going to buy it on a whim. If someone is going to buy a new car they're probably going to research their purchase and visit dealerships to test drive and inspect the options out there. Who tf watches a car commercial and goes "hmmm I think I'll go spend $30k on a new car right now!" How TF does spamming links to OF get people to subscribe?

     @adiz pretty much. I keep shitting on targeted advertising because for all the data they should have on me, they still give me car ads (I don't even have my license) and stuff that would only be relevant to homeowners (I don't own a home)
     
     And then there's the spam advert, which just makes people mad. It's doubly questionable on fedi as people here are more tech savvy and probably hate ads and spam passionately
