   Amazon is shutting down English version VN/LN again. This time its Hanashi Media getting the hammer, a week before release no less.

     @rlier23 I'm not aware of Hanashi Media's reputation with regard to localization. I think Amazon deep-sixing books based on "content and community guidelines" is a bad thing. But I invite you to draw your own conclusions here.

     @rlier23 A fair position... My only response would be that the hammer Amazon uses against the troonslator today will inevitably be used against others tomorrow. Applying basic Game Theory would not be unwise.

     @rlier23 I would like to be clear, here, though. I'm not interested in helping Hanashi Media in a direct or exclusive fashion. I've seen nothing to indicate bad behavior on their part, but putting that aside, I agree it would be inefficient. I'm interested in helping myself. Hanashi Media may benefit incidentally, but that doesn't concern me.

     Amazon's behavior puts a spotlight on the problem, making people more conscious of it and more receptive to solutions. I'd like to use that opportunity to nudge people in the direction of solutions that take power away from large, centralized, corporate actors, like Amazon. They're the big threat here. Remove their influence from the market, and the perverse incentives that encourage wokalization begin to disintegrate. Where Hanashi Media goes from there is up to them.

     but assuming these types will just turn their back on us and throw us under the bus while corrupting japanese media i don't think it's a good investment to help them.
     it would just be a waste of energy and the end result will be the same.
     don't call for others to get this treatment but also don't put your hands in the fire for ungrateful people
