     @kekkerel you can get a contractor saw that won't cut your fingers off for almost as much as a 5HP shop saw that only cuts fingers placed in the path of the blade at home depot

     @kekkerel yeah I don't get it. I mean no one wants to lose a finger but a saw that tells you it won't hurt you seems like a recipe for more careless saw operation anyway, and at that price I expect some serious power and accuracy. The saw stop mechanism is impedance based iirc and I believe it effectively breaks the saw to stop it faster than it could with a brake so if it goes off your saw is offline until you can get it fixed.
