@rlier23 @koropokkur @NitroDubs You have to remember that the cartels are run by the US Government. If any country in South America were to do something about them, then they would face enormous diplomatic pressure and potentially risk war.

Just ask El Salvador, who has been on the receiving end of constant attacks by the media and, at one point, the state department was even threatening diplomatic and military action over it. The only reason El Salvador is getting away with it at the moment is because America is already too busy propping up the other violent cartels in other parts of the world like Israel and Ukraine.
