   @Jean_Philippe_Micheaux @sickburnbro There's 10 million economics bloggers, podcasts, and books all doing their version of "here's why GDP is a bad measure". It's one of the last bipartisan, across the spectrum things economists agree with. Then everybody immediately fixates on GDP again when the number comes out and pretends it means something useful.

     @PunishedD @Jean_Philippe_Micheaux the US really became about GDP in the 70s-80s. The democrats pretended to NOT care, but it was always an effective attack against them, thus they did.
