     @LouisConde not so! We're much worse off than in 1958 thanks to our heavier burden of programs, spending, laws, doctrine, bias, and miseducation--all heaped on our backs to solve this problem, without anyone caring that the problem didn't get solved.
     
     That's not a timeloop, but a continuous decline. And the same kind of blindness it requires, to never ask if the results of any program were achieved, has metastasized like cancer. The sanctions did literally nothing to stop the Ru/Ukr conflict--while striking at the heart of global trade, while pointing and laughing at people for "foolishly relying" on foreign services--and the only reaction's been to make more and more sanctions. Masks, vaccines, and social distancing are still widely believed in.
