     I played Myst III a little bit when I was very young. I was too dumb and impatient to solve the puzzles, but the atmosphere of that abandoned island has stuck with me for a long time. Ornate dwellings melded seamlessly into the gorgeous landscape, gigantic and deranged experiments straight from the mind of Newton or da Vinci, each puzzle a lock on a door that must never be opened, and the traces of sabotage and the presence of another explorer become harder and harder to ignore ...
     
     These barely-remembered impressions were the main reason I chose the username "mist". I felt that "myst" would be too on-the-nose so I demoted the arcane and pretentious "y" to a humble "i". Also, I love misty scenes because they make the world feel larger.
     
     Don't spoil the game for me. Someday soon, when I have time, I want to go back and play it for real, start to finish.
     
     Then I'll play Spud! and give you all a detailed review :blobgrin:
