Since posting about Kadokawa's reversal on publishing the anti-gender ideology text "Irreversible Damage", I've heard from a lot of people that the text blames anime for "transing" children....all saying largely the same thing, in the same way.
Every time I experience this, it usually means that a talking point has been picked up third-hand and repeated. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm very curious about its origin point. So I'd like to do a survey.
1. If you've read the book, can you tell me how much of the text is devoted to blaming anime? How many mentions, across how many pages, and how closely does it tie into the central thesis?
2. If you heard this claim second- or third-hand, from whom and/or where did you hear it? Links to your source would be appreciated, if possible.
