     You can only tag as many people as you can fit into a toot including the post itself. The character limit will restrict how many accounts you can tag.

     If you write a public or followers-only post, everyone following you will see it. You don't need to mention them specifically.

     You might find the "Groups" feature more useful for that kind of thing?

     The Lists feature is meant more for organising your timelines into mini-timelines.

     @feditips I have a list called Musicians. I want to ask this group a question and not bother everybody else.
