   Windows 10 gets a version of the program that extended updates for Windows 7.

     @arstechnica it'll be a cold day in hell before I willingly upgrade from windows 10 to 11. I'm currently locked out of my windows 11 machine by the stupid bitlocker outage, and I'm just about to get over it, nuke my drives, and replace it with Linux.

     @arstechnica I gotta say, I went to GNU/Linux full time back in 2014ish and I've never looked back. I think the landscape is 100x better now, especially with stuff like Steam Deck helping to put some work into multimedia, which was always lacking.

     I killed auto updates shortly after installing. I should probably do a sweep, actually.
