Kyonko802 (kyonko802@varishangout.net)'s status on Wednesday, 06-Dec-2023 00:59:22 JST Kyonko802 There's this very stark but invisible line between piracy as game preservation and the front-end of game collectors' non-piracy efforts.
It's very jarring to watch the completionist spend thousands upon thousands of dollars right before the 3DS store closes and then turn around and see the H-shop where every single 3DS title is preserved for free in its fullest form.
It's like watching a philosopher preach about the importance of knowledge and when someone listening asks about the library of Alexandria he speaks in a low hushed tone and says, "we do not engage in unsanctioned knowledge hoarding"- Meemoo and Immahnoob like this.

Pawlicker (purpcat@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Wednesday, 06-Dec-2023 02:29:53 JST Pawlicker @Kyonko802 the game collectors aren't collectors. They're hoarders who want clout, or gatekeeping "preservationists" like Frank Cifaldi or worse; shoutime. Kyonko802 likes this. -
Tsuki (tsuki@amami.paradigm-x.tokyo)'s status on Wednesday, 06-Dec-2023 02:38:01 JST Tsuki game "preservationists" clap their hands when nintendo pastes a rom into their subscription service or when companies like LRG sell games with fomo and create artificial scarcity they don't care about actually preserving them(drm free dumps and peer to peer sharing) they just want their own personal hoard and to have moral superiority.
